How is it calculated?
What are container inside dimensions?
20' DC: 590 × 235 × 239 cm (≈33 m³, ~28 t). 40' DC: 1203 × 235 × 239 cm (≈67.7 m³). 40'HC: 1203 × 235 × 269 cm (≈76 m³). Loading height is limited by the door: DC 228 cm, HC 258 cm.
How full can a container be in practice?
Because of packing gaps, usually 85–90% of the inside volume is usable. A 20' takes 11 and a 40' 24–25 Euro pallets single-stacked.
Why does weight distribution matter?
The centre of gravity should stay within ±10% of the container's mid-length (CTU Code); otherwise axle loads and handling become risky.
